Hands down my favorite Chinese food restaurant of all time. I may be biased since I grew up in, and moved back to, Kaneohe. The food is reasonably priced and is always consistent. From the very first time that I've had it and every time since then until now, still as good as all the other times.

Their lemon chicken and the sauce that comes with it is my absolute fave! Literally, I order this every time I go there. We also tried their black bean spare ribs last year since my husband wanted to try it -- game changer. Their lunch and dinner plates are deals for the price and amount of food you get!

All around highly recommended! Their service is awesome, their food is great [& consistent! -- huge plus, never disappoints], and all reasonably priced !

    Happy Eating!

It was a rainy Sunday and my friend and I
had just been shopping we figured to try this place. It was very quite. One noticeable thing about it was the deco. Very clean inside. It was a thing to catch one of the workers disinfecting the floors when we entered... so there was a defined smell of ammonia in the main part of the restaurant it didn't really bother me, but it stood out. The other thing that was cool was how the Pink seemed to bring out the a cultural pairing to the ambiance of the place... I liked it. And I don't care for pink, but Im this case I rather found it amping up my appetite.

The waitress had been very proficient and with all due respect the waitresses in this place helped each other out. The two waters were brought, orders were taken and they tea really is nice.

Let me point out that the tea came automatically and was a good change for once that feeling I recall when I was growing up in Hawaii and that was an instant thing that was given and not asked for!

    High points- service proficient
    High points- automatic tea drop
High points- on clean ambience and decor.

So seeing that we were hungry and I had to keep it kinda "Keto" (I started on this diet in the last week of March) it was easy to order the foods I could eat.

1- stuffed bitter melon with pork
    2- egg fuYung
    3- mushroom with snow peas
    And cashews.

Everything was delicious and the food came so quickly!

I'd go back again. Perhaps try different dishes. Excellent for eating in!

Small parking lot. This restaurant has gone through another new ownership. The ambience inside this restaurant is rather clean and they even covered or dressed all their chairs!

During rush hour, it does take a while for your take out food to come out, whether it's a phone order or walk in order.

I usually order just the Chinese chicken salad, I think it's ok.  But there are a few other Chinese restaurants in Kaneohe, so Mui Kwai has competition!

The staff is nice. They didn't check up on us as much as I expected though. During our entire meal, they only checked on us twice. We tried the oxtais soup. Unfortunately, it was super duper salty (the soup) and we could not finish it all for fear of high blood pressure. The meat itself were good meaty pieces and they were tender. Too bad about the soup though. Very disapppointing ! On a good note though, their pork hash are delicious, big and meaty. Their scallop with vegetables was also very tasty, with a lot of tender scallops. Don't know if we'll be back, except maybe for the pork hash and scallops.

    Chinese cuisine in Kaneohe...

I've been dining here at Mui Kwai for so long!  Sometimes, my family would reserve several tables and celebrate a birthday. At other times, we gathered here after a Memorial service to have lunch. Many times, I have a craving for local Chinese comfort food and this is a convenient, quick, and easy stop for me. I call in my order, drive over, and pick up my dinner!

Yesterday, my friends, family, and I had lunch at a fancy Chinese restaurant in Honolulu. They didn't have kau yook with taro, sweet sour cabbage with squid, nor steamed pork hash with salted eggs!  My mom said it's because these three items are like peasant food!  LOL!  Anyway, I still wanted to eat these items and Mui Kwai in Kaneohe had them all! It's not the best (the pork hash was on the bland, dry side and the pork belly was bit hard and overcooked), but it satisfies.

Overall, it's just an average, typical chop suey house...it's no frills and straight forward with convenient restroom and free parking!
